Is it just me…or is picking the right teacher planner the toughest decision of the summer? So many factors go into making the right decision. Digital or paper? Calendar or just blank lesson pages? Neutral or colorful? The options seem to be endless and it can be overwhelming.
I have always been a paper and pen type of person. If you look at my desk at school, you will see Post It note and to-do lists everywhere. Give me all the colored pens, highlighters, stickers galore and I am a happy person. When it comes to planners I am no different. I usually use the lesson planner that is provided by my school, but personalize it. Each class level is in a certain color, I use stickers for important assignments and tests, and pretty washi tape to block off breaks and planning periods.
Like I said in my last blog post, this is the year to start a new journey and step out of my comfort zone. For the first time ever, I bought a digital planner from Teachers Pay Teachers. For those of you that know me, this is HUGE. You’re probably thinking, how is using a digital planner stepping out of your comfort zone? Well, I have never been the best with technology. Something always goes wrong, I get overwhelmed trying to figure it out, and usually end up frustrated. After watching a few videos and attending some Professional Development sessions, I think I am ready to take that leap into the tech world. Using a digital planner is new for me, but I am excited to test it out! Let’s be honest though, you’ll still see Post It notes and to-do lists all over my desk. Some things just never change…
