"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."Benjamin Franklin
Hey! I'm So Glad You're Here...
I'm Allie and I teach 10th and 11th grade English. This might be funny to people that know me because I am young, short, and look more like a student than a teacher. BUT I absolutely love what I do and wouldn't trade it for the world. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to teach. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have a pretend classroom when I was 7 years old. My parents fed right into my dream. My father put up a blackboard on the wall of the playroom and gave me my very own teacher desk with all the office supplies a girl could ask for. I would call both my parents in to "listen to my lesson," which at the time, probably made no sense at all. Being the amazing parents that they are, they listened and even played along.

I am going on year 7 of teaching. I love my school and every aspect of it. I work in a private school, where the environment is positive, friendly, and welcoming. I am surrounded by so many amazing teachers that do exactly that--TEACH. The ones that teach from the heart and not from a textbook.

I am hoping to use this blog as a helpful tool for this amazing community of teachers. With that being said, these methods and tools work for MY classroom. Feel free to adapt and make them your own.
